For What It's Worth

For about a decade ago I started, or planned to start, an Eyecandy-series. Kathrine Moennig being the first post-age. Yet, not the triggering event, without going further into this I give you Eyecandy nr. 2 Brian Molko in all his glory.

His haunting, yet, calming voice and morbid mind, I would definitely ta... like to have an intellectual conversation with that man.

Brian Molko as you may already know, is the lead singer in the alternative slash rock band, Placebo. Just thinking about him makes me melt, don't give me that! we all have our own personal vices. Born December 10, 1972 in Belgium. He often felt alienated and alone, since his family moved around most of his childhood. Fortunately, he finding comfort in the drama department.

His androgynous image began as a rebellion against his father and strict upbringing. Being well known for his appearance and sexual orientation since his youth. Along with Stefan Olsdal and Steve Hewitt he formed the band Placebo, formerly known as Prince... Juuust kidding they called themselves for Ashtray Hearts.

Today the bands attempts to challenge gender norm, Nancy Boy being an example, and draws attention to a the psychology aspect of humanity. Since their name refers to a drug with no therapeutic effects. So basically any reaction what so ever would be purely psychological. Their latest album is "Battle for the Sun" with the mindboggeling (Don't you just love that word?) song For What It's Worth, and naturally the video does not disappoint.

I'm excited!

Today I finally found the TV-series, where I first was introduced to Katherine Moenning. You may know her as Shane from the hit TV-series "The L Word". I know her as Jacqueline "Jake" Pratt from "Young Americans". She plays a girl pretending to be a boy in order to attend a boys only elite school. Hamilton falls for her or should I say Jake, cause he has no idea. He gets confused, "I mean I've thought about it, I've had tendencies... God am I gay?" Okay he doesn't say that, but there's drama and it's great.

Unfortunately TV3 didn't air all the episodes, and it was a long time ago. Still there was something about Kate, that caught my eye. Not just the fact that she dressed like a guy, but there was something special about her. She's responsible for me like “The L Word” as much as I do. The series in itself it pretty rockin', but she just brings a fresh edginess to the table. I just love her, and I think you will too, if you don't already that is. Or maybe you won't. Anyway...

Smashing series, smashing concept and smashing characters. It's amazing that the producer, at one point or another have managed to represent almost every sexual orientation there is. Of course I'm talking about humans, there's no Zoophilia or Necrophilia... I may be off my dot, but I really heart the series, can yah dig it?
